What You Need to Know
- Firms rooted in the Midwest hosted the most individual Florida-barred lawyers, with 101.
- Missouri-founded Husch Blackwell led the way, boasting 19 Florida-barred attorneys.
- Northeast-based firms currently host 85 Florida-barred attorneys.
With Florida’s legal sector continuing to provide opportunities for law firms across the country, the Daily Business Review analyzed data from the Florida Bar to see which firms without a physical office in Florida have lawyers barred in the state anyway.
The analysis found that 52 Am Law-ranked firms had lawyers barred in Florida despite not hosting a physical office there. Am Law-ranked firms based in New York led the way, with 11 of them housing more than one Florida-barred lawyer, despitelackinga Florida office. California, Washington, D.C. and Ohio-based firms followed New York in the number of Florida licensees.
