Bremerton, Washington —– It has been an eventful day for the San Jose State University men’s golf team who have played 36 holes in under 10 hours for the first time this season. The Spartans and 15 other teams met on the Olympic Par 72-Gold Mountain course, the site of the Mountain West 2022 Men’s Golf Championship.

San Jose State was outstanding in the morning round posting a team score of 10 under par 278 on the 7,155 yard course. “There was some sparkle in the first round. I was very encouraged by what I saw today. Obviously we can do it and we have to get used to playing 36 holes,” said San Jose State University men’s golf coach. John kennaday looking forward to an “up” day. to conclude the 54-hole tournament. “It doesn’t feel good to lose places (in the standings), but the fact that we can shoot 10 cents as a team is very exciting.”

Missouri and Oregon State (569) round out the top five teams. Half of the teams on the pitch, including the Spartans, were below par for the day and the other half were not.
