Public Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola will deliver the keynote speech on the 2023 elections on Thursday at a democracy conference organized by TheNiche, an online news platform.

The 2022 edition of TheNiche Annual Conference is scheduled to be held at the Agip Recital Hall at the Musical Society of Nigeria Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

This was announced in a statement made available to The PUNCH on Sunday.

Fashola, former Governor of Lagos State, will speak on “The 2023 Elections and the Future of Nigerian Democracy”, while Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, veteran First Republic politician, human rights activist the man, former liaison to late President Shehu Shagari and founding member of the Arewa Consultative Forum will chair the event.

Many high-level political and business leaders, including former Federation Government Secretary Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, as well as leading presidential candidates in the 2023 elections are expected to grace the occasion.

The others are Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former CEO of NIMASA; Ms. Ene Obi, Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria, Head of Crisis Room, and Mr. Festus Okoye, National Commissioner of INEC and Chairman of the Voter Information and Education Committee.

The debates would be moderated by Mr. Anthony Kila, senior lecturer and lecturer, Jean Monnet Professor of Strategy and Development, Director of the Center for Advanced and Professional International Studies.
